Welcome to the West Humber Naturalists Community Forum
We are a volunteer organization based in Kleinburg, Ontario. Our members are from the regions of York and Peel and share an interest in, and are concerned about, our natural environment.
We have regular Meetings throughout the year and sponsor a number of Field Trips to areas of interest in Ontario. We also sponsor two Bird Counts and are very active in the birding community in the GTA and Ontario. The club publishes a Newsletter that is distributed to its members.
Please follow the links in the Sidebar of this page for information about club activities or on becoming a member. You can also access information about local areas where a wide variety of birds and other wildlife may be found.
It is with more than a little sadness that we approach this Summer, as it will mark the end of the Club's existence as a formal organization. The combination of an aging membership, and the busy lives of potential younger members, has left us with the situation where continuing to have monthly evening meetings and regular formal outings is no longer tenable. We hope to continue to provide an informal network for people interested in outings, in taking part in various citizen science activities such as the Christmas Bird Count, the Gerry Bennett Summer count, and so on. Meanwhile we will wrap up this year with our April meeting, and then a wrap-up party at Joan Love's home on 10 June at 1:00, at the end of the Summer count period.
